General questions
What is a torrent? How do I download via BitTorrent? You can get all answers here (in Russian). Where can I find the sources of the tracker? You can find them at tbdevsz. Please note that the Administration of the tracker doesn't provide technical support, so use these sources at your own risk. User information
I registered an account on the tracker, but never received the confirmation letter.Try registering once again. Please note that if the confirmation letter didn't arrive last time, it is likely you won't get it this time either. Try using another email address. Besides, the confirmation letter could have been identified as spam, check the junk folder of your mailbox. I've forgotten my account name and/or password, can you remind them to me please? Please use this form to get your registration data by email. Could you please rename my account? No, we do not rename accounts. What is ratio?Ratio is the correlation between your uploaded and downloaded data. You can find your current ratio on the information panel at the upper left, under your name. You should understand the difference between the general ratio and the ratio for the particular torrent that you are downloading or seeding. General ratio is calculated from the total amount of data you have uploaded and downloaded since your registration on the tracker. The ratio of the particular torrent considers only the amount of uploaded / downloaded data for the particular file(s). There are two more types of indicating your ratio: "Inf." - stands for Infinity, - which means you haven't downloaded anything yet, but the amount of your uploaded data isn't null; "---" - stands for "unavailable", - which means you have no uploaded or downloaded data. How can I increase my ratio? It's very simple - upload more than you've downloaded, and your ratio will automatically rise. Why is my IP address shown on the details page?Don't worry about others seeing your IP, they don't; this information is visible only to you and to the Administration (Moderators) of the tracker. Help me, please! I can't log on to the tracker!Sometimes this problem appears while using Internet Explorer. Close all Internet Explorer windows, then open your Internet Options in the Control Panel. Press the Delete Cookies button - this should help. I have a dynamic IP address. What do I need to do to use your tracker? You don't need to do anything special. Just log in with your current IP when starting up a new torrent session (selecting a new torrent file). Even if your IP changes during the session, downloading or uploading will continue, and stats will refresh automatically. Why does the torrent client say that it is impossible to connect to the tracker? (The value in the Port line is red)The tracker has discovered that you are behind a firewall or NAT, and your computer is inaccessible for a direct connection (in other words, the port is closed). This means that the other users who are participating in the exchange cannot connect to you, only you can initiate the connection. To solve this problem you have to open the port that is used for incoming connections (the same as in you torrent client settings) in the firewall and/or the settings of your NAT server. (If required, please refer to the documentation for your router and/or the technical support forum of the manufacturer of your equipment; you can also find the neccessary information on our forum: Общие технические вопросы, or here: PortForward). What user classes are there on the tracker?
What rules can be applied to the users?
Why can't my friends register on the tracker? This means that at the present time the tracker has reached its limit of users. Accounts that have been inactive for more than 180 days are automatically deleted. Those who want to register should try again later. (There is no waitlist or reservation system on the tracker, please don't ask about it!) How do I add an avatar to my profile?First you have to pick a picture that matches the rules. There are two ways of setting the avatar: 1) Using an external source - in this case you have to find an image hosting site, e.g. iPICTURE or Upload-It!, where you can host your picture. On uploading the image, you will receive a URL address that you should copy and paste into the "Avatar" field in your profile after pressing the "Link" button. 2) Uploading the picture to our server - press the "Upload" button in the avatar settings in your profile and specify the path to the image file on your computer. Please, don't make posts on the forum just to test your avatar. If everything was done correctly, you will see your avatar on your personal page. What is account parking? ![]() The tracker uses a system of autocleanup of inactive accounts. If your account has been inactive for a sufficient period of time, it will be automatically deleted. Account parking is necessary to prevent it from being deleted during autocleanup. If you are leaving somewhere for a long time, please park your account in your profile so that you won't have to worry about its deletion. Although parked accounts get deleted as well, the inactivity time for this to happen is much longer than for unparked accounts: 365 days. What does the sign next to the torrent in the list mean? This sign is given to "free" torrents. This means that during downloading only the amount of uploaded data will be taken into account. The data downloaded within this torrent won't be calculated in the global statistics. What does the sign next to my name mean? This sign means that you have received a warning for violating the rules of the tracker. The reason for the warning, its duration and the username of the person who gave it to you are sent to you in a personal message. This warning means that there will be several restrictions for you on the tracker: 1) you cannot download more than 5 torrents at a time, 2) you cannot give respects or antirespects to people. What are those signs and in the comments, next to usernames, torrents, requests, etc.?By clicking on the sign you will show respect (approval) to the user for his/her actions (e.g for a useful comment or uploaded torrent). By clicking on the sign you will show antirespect (dissaproval) of the user's actions. Why do we need respects?Respects are used as a measure of user's activity and adequacy. What is "My bonus"?This is a unique feature of the tracker. "My bonus" are bonus points that you get in the process of seeding (distributing) a torrent. What do I get a bonus for?For every hour of seeding you will get a bonus worth 1 point. The bonus is based only on the time and doesn't depend on the amount of seeded torrents. What is the bonus used for?On getting a certain amount of bonus points, you may exchange them for extra upload or an exclusive rank. You can view the "rates of exchange" on the "My bonus" page. What are tags (BBCode) and how to use them? The BBCode tags are designed for decoration of messages on the tracker and forum without direct use of HTML. You can find a detailed description of all allowed tags and their usage here: BBCode help. Statistics
The most common reasons why the statistics are not renewed:1) the user is a cheater; 2) the server is overloaded and isn't responding. If possible, do not close the session until the server resumes its work (please don't flood the server by manual refreshing of the page); 3) an unstable/malfunctioning torrent client. If you want to use an experimental version of the torrent client, do it at your own risk! Helpful tips:1) If the torrent that you are downloading/uploading doesn't show up in the list of your downloads, just wait for some time or refresh the webpage manually. 2) Make sure that you closed your client correctly and that the tracker received the "event=completed" message. 3) If the server is down, don't stop uploading. If it is restored before you close the client, the statistics will be renewed automatically. What torrent clients can be used on the tracker? At this moment the tracker renews the statistics correctly when using any torrent client (except for the banned ones, of course). Nevertheless, we strongly discourage you about using the following clients: • BitTorrent++, • Nova Torrent, • TorrentStorm. These clients fail to cancel/stop the torrent session correctly. If you are using them, there may be a situation when the torrents are shown in details even after the download is finished or the client is closed. Using clients of test versions (alpha or beta) is not recommended either. Why is the torrent that I am downloading/uploading listed in my profile several times? If for some reasons (for example, an urgent reboot or the client's crash) your client finished its work incorrectly and you relaunched it, you will be given a new "peer_id", in other words, your upload will be identified as a new (different) torrent. The server will never receive the "event=completed" or "event=stopped" message for your previous torrent and will show it in the list of your active torrents for some time. Never mind that, this glitch will be gone eventually. I completed or cancelled a torrent. Why does it still show up in my profile? Some clients, especially TorrentStorm and Nova Torrent, don't send the message about torrent completion or cancellation to the server. In these cases the tracker will wait for the message from your client and will show the download/upload for some time. Never mind that, the torrent will be gone from the list of active torrents eventually. Why are there torrents in my profile that I've never downloaded?!When the torrent session is started, the tracker uses a so-called passkey to identify the user. Someone could have stolen or found out your passkey. Please change it in your profile if this occurs. Please note that after changing your passkey you will need to re-download all your active torrents. Many IP addresses, or May I work with the tracker from different computers?Yes, the tracker supports multiple sessions from different IP addresses for one user. The torrent is associated with the user when he or she starts an upload/download, and only at this moment the IP address is important. In other words, if you want to download/upload from computer A and computer B using the same account, you should log on to the site from computer A, start the torrent, and then do the same from computer B (two computers are only an example, there is no limit, just make sure to do both steps on all the computers). You don't need to re-login after closing the client. How can NAT/ICS ruin the process? When using NAT you must set different ranges for torrent clients on different computers and create NAT rules on the router (the details of router setup are beyond the scope of these FAQ, please refer to the instructions to your equipment and/or the technical support forum). Often there is no opportunity of configuring routers in networks at your own discretion, so you will have to use the tracker at your own risk. The Administration isn't responsible for any errors coming from NAT usage. For those who are interested (the "anatomy" of a torrent session)Some information about the "anatomy" of a torrent session can be found here. Uploading or seeding
Why can't I upload?Only special users (Uploaders and Releasers) may upload torrents. What do I have to do to become an Uploader?First fill out this form, and then wait for the Administration's decision. May I transfer your torrent files to other trackers? No. Only registered users have the rights to download torrents from the tracker Multreactor.ru: powered by DisneyJazz, so simple copying of torrent files won't let other users download files from the tracker. We ask that registered users use our torrent files only within this tracker, not to spoil the reputation of Multreactor.ru: powered by DisneyJazz. However, you can use the downloaded data as you wish. How to help with uploading, how to continue seeding of already downloaded material? If you want to continue seeding but have already deleted the torrent file or the task from the torrent client and if the file/folder has only been moved and hasn't been renamed, all you have to do is download the torrent file from the upload page and specify the location of the file/folder on your computer as the target location for the torrent. The client will do the hash check (or you can do it yourself) and will start the torrent in the seeding mode. If the file/folder has been renamed, you will first need to restore the original name of the file/folder and then repeat the steps above. If you want to help someone with seeding and you are sure that the files you've got are similar to the ones they have, please check the size of your files. To do that, go to the torrent page and compare the size of files that are in the description (in bytes) with what you have. If the sizes are the same, follow the steps described above. Downloading
What do I do with the files downloaded from the tracker? You will probably find the answer here. You want to download a movie, but don't understand the terms CAMRip, TS, TC, DVDScr in the description of the torrent? You should go here. Why did the torrent that was active a moment ago suddenly disappear?!There could be several reasons: 1) The torrent didn't comply with the rules. 2) The uploader deleted it because the release was of low quality. It is possible that it will be replaced with a different release a bit later. How do I continue downloading if the torrent is gone from the list of downloads of the torrent client because of a system error, client change or for some other reason?Open the torrent file (extension: .torrent) that has been saved on you computer or download it from the tracker. Specify the place where the unfinished files are located on you computer to your torrent client. The client will check the hash and continue downloading. Why do my downloads sometimes stop at 99%?You already have a lot of parts, and the client is trying to find users who have the parts that you lack or that are corrupted. So the download can stop when there are just a few percents until completion. Please wait a while, and soon (or not so soon :) ) the client will download all the missing parts. This problem may also occur with some torrent clients. To test your client, try using another one, like uTorrent or Azureus. What does the message "a piece has failed a hash check" mean?Torrent clients check the downloaded data for errors. If a portion of the data has been received with errors, the client will keep redownloading this piece till the error disappears. This occurs fairly often, so don't worry about it. Some clients have an option of automatically blocking users that constantly send corrupted parts. The size of the torrent is 100 MB. How come I downloaded 120 MB?See the previous question. If your torrent client is receiving parts of data with errors, it will have to download them again and again. So the total amount of downloaded data may exceed the actual size of the torrent. What is "IOError - [Errno13] Permission denied"?To solve this problem you just need to reboot your computer. And for those interested: IOError means there is an input-output error, and this is an error of your computer, and not the tracker. This happens when the torrent client can't open the downloaded files for various reasons. The most probable reason is that there are 2 clients working at the same time. For example, you tried to close the client, but it didn't finish its work and instead just "hung". When you try to open the second instance of the program there will be a message like that, because the first instance will be blocking the working files. A less frequent case is an error in the allocation table of your file system (FAT or FAT32), when the downloaded files are read improperly or cannot be read at all (this is more common with Windows 9x, which uses FAT or FAT32 by default, but also with Windows NT/2000/XP, if FAT was chosen instead of NTFS during installation. NTFS is a better file system, less amenable to problems of that sort). Why isn't anything downloading even though I am using a good client? (Banned clients)You may be using one of the banned (impermissible) clients. Our tracker doesn't allow the following clients or their versions: ABC - versions below 3.01, Bitlord - all versions, BitComet - all versions, BitSpirit - all versions, Opera BT client (the torrent client built into the Opera browser) - all versions, FlashGet - all versions. If some of the versions of the client are banned, you will need to update your client in order to use our tracker. Otherwise you will need to change the program, or you will not be able to download anything from our tracker. The antileech-system parametersOur tracker uses an antileech system for users lower than VIP. This system activates waiting time for new torrents in accordance with the following rules:
The waiting time is calculated for each torrent since its upload to the tracker. Decoding the announcer errors and their solutions
Invalid client or Banned client. Please read the FAQ.The torrent client is incompatible with our tracker, please change it. Please update or change your torrent client! The version of the torrent client is incompatible with our tracker. Please update your torrent client or change it. Invalid portYou are using an incorrect port in your torrent client, please change it. Missing key: XXXWhen your client transfers data, the tracker doesn't get the XXX key. If everything was fine before, try to stop the torrent and start it again. Otherwise change the torrent client. Invalid passkey (NNN - XXX) or Unknown passkey. Please redownload the torrent from the tracker. You have an incorrect passkey. Change the passkey in the Control panel and redownload active torrents from the tracker. The torrent is not registered at this tracker. The torrent that your client is looking for is not on the tracker. It was most likely deleted. Delete the task from the torrent client. You are downloading too many torrents, the limit is 10.You are downloading too many torrents. You can download 10 torrents at once. Before downloading new torrents you should finish the old ones or pause them. You are seeding too many torrents, the limit is 100.You are seeding too many torrents. You can seed only 100 torrents at once. Pause the torrents which have a little amount of leechers or which don't have leechers at all. Try to seed only those torrents where the number of leechers is high or where you are the only seeder. Please wait NNN hours - read the FAQ!The tracker has a system of holding for users with a low ratio. You have to wait before you can download the torrent you want. Pause the torrent and wait until you are allowed to download. Error, your account is parked! Please read the FAQ!Your account is parked, you can't download torrents. Turn parking off in the Control panel. You may not download torrents. You can't download torrents. Probably your class is Leecher, and you don't have that option. It is also possible that the Administration of the tracker prohibited downloading for your account. Seed torrents to increase your ratio, and then this prohibition will certainly be removed. You cannot leech or seed a torrent more than once from one IP.You can't seed or download the same torrent form the same IP address more than once. In other words, for one torrent from one IP address of the user's account only one connection is allowed. Stop the task in your torrent client. How can I increase the speed of torrent download?
Don't try to download new torrents right after their upload, especially if you have low speed.Let the users with wide channels download the data first, which will let other users, including you, download with faster speeds and without delays. The best moment to join the download is when the distribution is half way through the torrent's life, although your seeding options will be impaired because most of the users have already downloaded that torrent. Your main goal is to keep the balance between these two conditions. :) Tune your equipment to maximum performance.See Why does the torrent client say that it is impossible to connect to the tracker? (The value in the Port line is red). Cut down your upload speed. Most of the torrent clients are tuned to balanced data exchange between users, when the upload speed is almost equal to the download speed. This is why your download speed will often be in direct dependence on the speed of upload. For example, if users A and B are downloading the same file and A is sending B data at a high speed, then B will try to give the data at the same speed and to the same extent. So fast upload will lead to faster download. The process of exchanging between torrent clients A and B is confirmed by system messages "ACK" (a type of the "received!" message). If one of the clients can't confirm the reception of data, the other client will pause the upload. This will lower the download speed and the upload speed as well. To prevent these situations it is crucial to keep the balance between downloading and uploading torrents. The most common solution is to limit the speed of upload to about 80% of the theoretically possible speed. Nevertheless, you will still need a more precise tuning, because for each system these parameters are picked individually. Some clients (for example Azureus) can limit the general speed of distribution, others (for example Shad0w's) will allow to make limitations for each specific torrent. Remember that a part of your channel is being used by other programs that need Internet access. Limit the number of simultaneous connections. Some operating systems (like Windows 9x) cannot endure a big amount of simultaneous connections and may even become irresponsive. Also, some home routers (especially when NAT and/or firewall in the scanning mode are working) may lower the connection speed or become irresponsive when there are many active connections. There is no universal solution of the problem, you will have to choose the optimal amount of simultaneous connections experimentally (we recommend somewhere between 60 and 100). Please note that this includes all working programs on your computer. Limit the number of simultaneous uploads.Hasn't this been mentioned above? Not really. Limiting the amount of uploads means lowering the number of users to whom you are distributing data. Uploading many torrents at a time does not increase the effectiveness of your client in the upload mode. This may even lead to decrease of upload speed, because inactive torrents will be "in the way" of active ones. The optimal value of this parameter is directly dependent on the speed of your physical connection and is picked experimentally. Don't hurry to connect to the upload. As said above, users share data firstly with those who are distributing more actively. When you are just starting to download a new file, you don't have anything to upload to other users, and they will ignore you. As a result, your download speed will drop, especially if the total amount of seeders is limited. The speed of download should increase when other seeders connect to the upload and the total amount of parts you downloaded reaches a satisfactory level. Why do webpages open so slowly when I'm downloading something?Your Internet connection speed is limited and depends on physical capacities of your connection and your tariff plan. Downloading torrents at a high speed leads to a drop in surfing speed, receiving email etc., because your torrent client practically "occupies" the entire bandwidth. To eliminate these situations or reduce their influence, you have to lower the speed of download: either the general value for the client, or the parameters for separate torrents (these functions are available in almost all torrent clients). If there are no such functions in your client, you can refer to Proxy servers. Working with the tracker through a proxy server.
What is a proxy server? This is the mediate server through which your computer "communicates" with the Internet. Proxy servers can be roughly divided into two classes: transparent and anonymous. The difference is that transparent proxies give away your IP address when interacting with a website over the Internet, while anonymous do not. Information about using a proxy is reflected in the HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR field of the standard header of an HTTP request. How do I know if I am behind a proxy or not?Go to the website ProxyJudge. As soon as the request is processed, you will receive the HTTP header read by the test server. The most important parameters in the header are REMOTE_ADDR, HTTP_VIA and HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR, they show unambiguously whether you are using a proxy, what your real IP address is and what proxy you are using (not always possible for anonymous proxy servers). Why does it say that I can't connect although I'm not using NAT or firewall? Our tracker is "advanced" enough in the question of detecting your real IP address. If you are using a proxy, it is required that the proxy always sends HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR in the header. If the proxy of your provider doesn't do that, the tracker will address the proxy server when trying to find out if you are using NAT, because it thinks that the received IP address is your own. The proxy server cannot process the tracker's request, so the tracker assumes you are using NAT or firewall, and there is no connection. Is there a way to bypass the proxy server of my provider? If your provider allows only traffic through the HTTP port (port 80), you can try to use a SOCKS proxy server. The setup and usage of SOCKS is far beyond these FAQ. How do I make my torrent client use proxy?Using a proxy is possible both in the standard Microsoft Internet Explorer browser and in alternative browsers (like Opera, Mozilla Firefox and others). The only difference is that when using IE all traffic through the HTTP port will go through the proxy server, while other browsers allow using the proxy just for this particular browser. You cannot use proxy servers for torrent clients. Why can't I register from behind a proxy? The rules of the tracker prohibit you from creating a new account when using proxy. Do these rules apply to other torrent trackers? These rules were written exclusively for our tracker. All specifics of working with other trackers can be found in their rules. It is prohibited to log on to the tracker. The account is blocked.
Blocking the user and blacklisting the IP address on the tracker. Our tracker blocks all IP addresses that were recorded in the PeerGuardian database, and also those of banned users. This blocking is applied to IP addresses only, this is why all users who work from these addresses are blocked. Because of the tracker policy we do not unblock IP addresses, especially if they have been recorded in the PeerGuardian database. To unblock your account you will have to address this service directly and to request that your IP address is removed from their black list. The IP address of the tracker is blocked on the part of your provider. It is unlikely that your provider is actually blocking our tracker by the IP address. Probably this is caused by incorrect network settings of your Internet connection or problems with resolving the tracker address at the DNS servers that you use. Otherwise there is nothing we can do to help you. The only thing you can do is contact the technical support of your provider to unblock the IP address of our tracker or try to change your Internet provider.
